About the Role
This is a hands-on engineering role at an early-stage, Y Combinator–backed AI productivity startup. You'll tackle two of the team's most critical technical challenges — backend scalability and LLM/AI agent flow optimization — in ways that directly shape platform performance and user experience.
What You'll Do
-
Design and implement backend systems and services built to operate at scale.
-
Tune and iterate on LLM integrations and AI agent orchestration to improve reliability and efficiency.
-
Own end-to-end technical challenges across the stack, from architecture decisions to shipping production code.
-
Collaborate closely within a small, fast-moving engineering team where your contributions have immediate impact.
What We're Looking For
-
5+ years of backend software engineering experience delivering scalable systems in production.
-
Hands-on experience optimizing LLMs and AI agent workflows in live production environments.
-
Proven track record of shipping software over time; practical experience is valued over formal credentials.
-
Experience working at fast-growing startups; a startup-motivated mindset is essential.
-
Strong side-project portfolio demonstrating technical depth and sustained curiosity.
-
High agency, clear ownership, and intentional career choices that reflect genuine commitment to craft.
-
