About the Role
This is a high-ownership engineering role at a Y Combinator–backed AI startup automating inside sales workflows for distributors and manufacturers. You'll be the technical bridge between product and customer — taking deals from sales handoff all the way to live deployment, and feeding real-world signal back into the core product.
What You'll Do
-
Own the full technical implementation lifecycle from sales handoff through go-live.
-
Configure and fine-tune AI models for customer-specific use cases, including prompt engineering and model behavior adjustments.
-
Structure customer data and build system integrations with ERP platforms (e.g. SAP) and various REST/GraphQL APIs.
-
Develop prototypes to demonstrate new features or solve emerging customer problems, then evolve them into scalable solutions.
-
Engage daily with technical teams and senior business stakeholders to translate real pain points into engineering decisions.
-
Act as the voice of the customer internally, surfacing product gaps and patterns to the core engineering team.
What We're Looking For
-
Native fluency in German (required).
-
Strong full-stack engineering skills across Python, React, TypeScript, SQL, and API development — comfortable spanning frontend, backend, and data pipelines.
-
Experience with enterprise system integrations, including ERP systems and REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, or B2B SaaS implementations.
-
Practical experience with LLMs, agents, and prompt engineering, with the ability to adapt model behavior to specific domains.
-
Proven ability to work with messy, inconsistent real-world data and establish reliable structures quickly.
-
Customer-obsessed approach — thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, and live customer environments.
-
High agency: proactively identifies problems and drives solutions with minimal direction.
-
Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
-
Comfortable with ambiguity, legacy systems, and a scrappy, problem-solving mindset.
