About the Role
An early-stage freight technology team is seeking a Founding Engineer to help shape its product and technical direction. You will combine hands-on full-stack development with customer conversations, turning operational needs into reliable AI-enabled software.
What You'll Do

Lead customer conversations and translate what you learn into product features and technical strategy.

Design and build full-stack applications while advancing the product's AI capabilities.

Move prototypes and demos toward scalable, high-quality production systems.

Make practical architecture decisions and help shape the product, technology, and company direction.
What We're Looking For

At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.

Full-stack experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React, plus backend development with Python.

Hands-on experience with LLM design patterns, vector stores, and model fine-tuning.

Experience designing, building, and deploying products from MVP through production, including prototype-to-production transitions.

A broad product engineering background, with experience leading customer conversations and translating feedback into product requirements.

Experience in a startup or early-stage environment, with sound judgment about making trade-offs without prematurely over-engineering.

This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates should be willing to work from Berlin or relocate there.
