About the Role
This is a founding engineering position at a YC-backed enterprise AI startup building agents that automate complex system integrations — ERP rollouts, data migrations, and cross-platform implementations that typically take months of consultant work. You'd join a small, tight-knit engineering team where your decisions directly shape the architecture and set the standard for engineers who come after you.
What You'll Do
-
Build and evolve the agent core — the planning, execution, and self-healing loops that turn natural-language integration descriptions into production-grade data movement.
-
Own systems end to end: connectors, transformation engine, execution runtime, web app, SDK, and MCP server.
-
Identify and ship the highest-leverage engineering work each week without waiting for a spec or ticket queue.
-
Work on genuinely critical infrastructure that operates against production ERP and financial systems where reliability truly matters.
-
Join customer calls when they touch your work — understanding real user needs is part of the job.
-
Set engineering patterns and raise the technical bar that future teammates will build on.
What We're Looking For
-
2+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
-
Strong proficiency in TypeScript with demonstrated experience building full-stack applications end to end.
-
Proficiency in at least one additional language — Python, Go, or C.
-
Experience integrating with or implementing enterprise systems such as ERPs, CRMs, or data warehouse platforms (e.g. SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake, or similar).
-
Solid technical judgment around reliability, scalability, and the real failure modes of critical infrastructure.
-
Comfort working directly with customers on technical implementations or support.
-
Experience building or meaningfully contributing to open source projects.
-
Background in data migration, ETL, or system integration work is a plus.
-
Strong CS fundamentals, whether from a top technical university or demonstrated through competitive programming or strong internship experience.
-
Prior experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment is a plus.
-
Clear, direct communicator — you can articulate the problem, what you tried, and what you need.
