### **About the Role**
This is a **Founding Engineer** position at an early\-stage enterprise AI automation startup based in Munich, Germany. The company builds AI\-powered tooling that learns from real human workflows — particularly screen\- and video\-based processes — and automates repetitive, high\-volume tasks for enterprise customers, giving teams back time for higher\-value work.
As a founding engineer, you will have significant ownership over both product and technical direction. You will work closely with enterprise customers (including PE portfolio company teams) to understand their processes and deliver automation solutions at scale. This role is **on\-site in Munich** and is suited to someone who thrives in a small, high\-intensity, founder\-level environment.
### **What You'll Do**
* Build product features and core technical infrastructure for enterprise customers end\-to\-end * Design and implement data pipelines to ingest, convert, and aggregate large volumes (1,000\+ hours) of video and other unstructured data into a structured data lake * Integrate Large Language Model (LLM) and Vision\-Language Model (VLM) pipelines into production product workflows * Develop full\-stack components using **Python** and **FastAPI** * Collaborate directly with enterprise customers to map existing processes and identify automation opportunities * Support a land\-and\-expand go\-to\-market strategy by enabling scalable, repeatable integrations
### **What We're Looking For**
**Must\-haves:**
* 3\+ years of experience in full\-stack engineering roles * Strong proficiency in **Python** and hands\-on experience building production\-ready RESTful APIs with **FastAPI** in scalable systems * Deep experience designing and implementing **video processing data pipelines** and related video analytics workflows * Experience building data pipelines to convert large volumes of unstructured video data into structured, queryable formats * Hands\-on experience integrating, fine\-tuning, and/or deploying **LLMs and VLMs** in production pipelines * Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices * Prior experience at an early\-stage startup; comfortable operating as a core contributor with high ownership and minimal process * Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work collaboratively across small, cross\-functional teams * Ability to work directly with enterprise customers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
**Nice\-to\-have:**
* Background in professional services, insurance, financial services, or related enterprise verticals * Experience with process automation or RPA tooling * Comfort shaping product direction alongside founders
### **Compensation \& Benefits**
* **Salary:** $80,000–$120,000 USD annually (or local equivalent) * Significant **equity ownership** as part of the founding team * **Visa sponsorship** is available
