About the Role
This is a ground-up, one-person US outpost role for an early-stage open-source MLOps infrastructure company. You'll own the entire San Francisco presence — community, events, technical evangelism, and pipeline — reporting directly to founding leadership. The goal is to make this company a household name in the SF AI-infra scene.
What You'll Do
-
Launch and run a recurring SF meetup series targeting the ML-infra community, growing it from zero into a must-attend event.
-
Represent the company at AI/ML meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Bay Area, building a visible personal brand and network.
-
Act as the community connector — knowing everyone, making introductions, and turning relationships into momentum.
-
Evangelize credibly through live demos, talks, blog posts, social content, and short demo videos tailored to technical audiences.
-
Demo a Python-based open-source framework live in front of ML engineers, fielding real questions and engaging at a technical level.
-
Instrument community and product signals (using tools like Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, and enrichment platforms) into automated enrichment, scoring, and follow-up flows that turn every conversation into a traceable pipeline.
-
Feed field intelligence — what teams are building, what frustrates them, who's evaluating what — directly back into product and GTM strategy.
What We're Looking For
-
1–3+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM roles, with demonstrated experience running events and converting engagement into measurable business outcomes.
-
Ability to demo and explain Python frameworks live to technical audiences, read code, work with APIs, and communicate comfortably with ML engineers.
-
Track record of building developer communities or technical event series from scratch, growing attendance and engagement over time.
-
Proficiency with modern GTM tooling: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools (e.g. Clay or similar), API integrations, and basic automation workflows.
-
Experience instrumenting community and event initiatives using product analytics, GitHub signals, and CRM data to track pipeline and ROI.
-
Demonstrated ability to produce technical content — blog posts, demo videos, social posts — that resonates with developer audiences.
-
Systems mindset: you can turn manual one-off hustle into repeatable, scalable, measurable workflows.
-
Comfortable operating with high autonomy in an early-stage startup environment.
-
Existing network in the SF AI/ML/infrastructure community is a strong plus.
-
Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, or agent infrastructure landscapes is a strong plus.
-
Experience with product-led growth (PLG) or usage-based GTM motions is a plus.
-
Visible personal brand — public talks, conference appearances, or recognizable community presence — is a plus.
