About the Role
Join a lean, high-impact engineering team at a Series A PropTech company building an AI-native operating system for short-term and holiday rental management across Europe. This is a central, ownership-heavy role — you'll design and ship agentic AI systems that observe, decide, and act on real-world property operations with humans in the loop. Expect to go deep on the business, modernize legacy systems, and turn messy operational workflows into reliable, autonomous software.
What You'll Do
- Own features end-to-end — from requirement gathering through production deployment — with minimal hand-holding.
- Design and build agentic AI workflows covering guest communication (chat and voice), operational decision-making, and property task management.
- Modernize legacy systems and redesign data structures to meet evolving product needs.
- Shadow real operational workflows to surface inefficiencies, hidden steps, and workarounds — then translate them into clean, production-ready software.
- Scope, ship, and iterate on problems rather than working purely from a ticket queue.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to keep product and engineering tightly aligned.
- Operate with high agency and sound judgment about speed vs. stability trade-offs.
What We're Looking For
Must-have:
- TypeScript proficiency — this is a dealbreaker requirement.
- Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end: requirements production, translating messy workflows into reliable systems.
- Track record of shipping quickly with sound judgment about what can safely break in a lean startup environment.
- Familiarity with React, Express, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS.
- Comfort working in an agentic engineering style — running multiple agents and terminals in parallel, using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex).
- Strong product taste: attention to UX details down to messaging and interaction wording.
- Ability to self-manage: plan work, communicate progress, and flag blockers proactively.
- Fluent English and strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Germany and work from the Berlin office.
Nice to have:
- Founder mentality or prior startup founding experience.
- Experience with Linear and Notion for work tracking and documentation.
- Background in PropTech, hospitality tech, or operational SaaS.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: €90,000 – €110,000 per year
- Small, accountable team focused on outcomes over process
- High-ownership, high-impact engineering environment
