About the Role
This is a hands-on finance role sitting within the Finance team of a fast-growing Series A/B EdTech startup. You'll work directly alongside senior leadership to help build a modern, AI-enhanced finance function from the ground up — with real ownership from day one.
What You'll Do
-
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate with external auditors.
-
Contribute to accurate financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
-
Assist with operational controlling, including budget planning, forecasting, and liquidity tracking.
-
Build monthly reports, run ad hoc deep dives, and translate data into clear, decision-ready analysis.
-
Identify and implement automation opportunities using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations.
-
Prepare decision briefs and support cross-functional initiatives across teams such as Growth and Engineering.
-
Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers.
What We're Looking For
-
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
-
Professional working proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken.
-
Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, with familiarity with German accounting standards (HGB) or IFRS as a plus.
-
Strong Excel skills and the ability to turn messy data into clear, actionable insights.
-
Prior experience supporting close processes, budgeting, forecasting, or audit coordination — through internships, coursework, or projects.
-
Genuine interest in AI and automation; experience with BI tools or low-code platforms is a bonus.
-
Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working closely with leadership in a fast-paced environment.
-
Background in or exposure to high-growth startups or tech companies is a plus.
