Introduction
We are seeking to appoint x2 Forklift Operators at the Mbombela Distribution Centre. These roles will report to the DC Supervisor.
Job description
Job Purpose:
To operate a forklift safely and productively in order to move, load, unload and position stock within the distribution centre and to support the overall logistics operations by maintaining accurate stock flow and a safe working environment.
Job Objectives:
- To operate the forklift in a safe and productive manner within the distribution centre in order to move, load, unload, stack and store products as well as pallets to support the continuous flow of stock daily.
- To perform accurate handling, scanning and recording of stock in alignment with WMS requirements and stock management principles and procedures.
- To maintain full operational readiness of the forklift by conducting daily inspections, completing required maintenance documentation and reporting safety hazards, damages or equipment issues immediately to the departmental manager in order to reduce downtime and operational risk.
- To comply with health, safety and housekeeping standards aligned to SOPs and safety regulations in order to maintain a safe work environment.
- To support operational efficiency within the distribution centre by coordinating effectively with team members in order to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers and contribute to daily operational targets.
- To perform additional duties as required from time to time in order to support operational continuity and respond to changing business needs.
Minimum requirements
Experience:
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations
- Understanding of reach truck inspections and maintenance procedures
- Knowledge of load management
- Understand the basics of bin management
- Understanding of labels and dispatch documents.
Education:

National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.

Valid Forklift operator certificate/license
Competencies:
- Attention to detail
- Able to work under time pressure/time deadline
- Able to work in a team
- Accuracy and Numerical ability Desirable
