Job Overview
As a Cloud Security Engineer, you’ll strengthen the security of cloud and network environments by designing safeguards, assessing risk, and responding to threats. You’ll work across cloud infrastructure, IT systems, and security operations to protect data and support reliable services. Your impact: By identifying vulnerabilities and improving security controls, you help teams protect sensitive information and keep services available.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain security controls for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and other cloud computing environments, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).
- Assess cloud architecture, IT infrastructure, network security, identity and access management, authentication, encryption, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and system hardening.
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools, logs, and threat intelligence; investigate alerts and coordinate incident response and recovery.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, security risk assessments, and security analysis; document findings and recommend practical remediation.
- Support compliance with ISO 27000, ISO 27001, ISO 27002, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements, and applicable risk management frameworks.
Qualifications
- Experience in cloud security engineering, security engineering, cybersecurity, or information security; knowledge of computer networking, network protocols, operating systems, and system administration.
- Familiarity with security tools and practices such as SIEM implementation, endpoint detection and response (EDR), intrusion detection systems (IDS), vulnerability management, and incident management.
- Working knowledge of relevant technologies, which may include Terraform, scripting, Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, routing protocols, and public cloud platforms.
- Understanding of security compliance, system security plans, and frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, or RMF (Risk Management Framework); related experience is preferred.
- Degree or equivalent background in computer science, IT, or a related field is preferred.
Pay: $58,500.00 - $70,600.00 per year
