Position Summary
Codida provides consulting services to clients in the mining and resources sector, helping them structure, manage and make effective use of their operational and business data. This role sits at the centre of that work: scoping what a client actually needs from their data, reviewing how they currently handle it, and building the frameworks, processes and analytical outputs that close the gap between the two. The person in this role acts as the bridge between what a client's systems currently produce and what disciplined, well-managed information practice should look like.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Work with clients to define the business problem, data requirements and scope for each analytics or data governance initiative, ensuring it lines up with their broader priorities rather than being addressed in isolation
· Review a client's existing data and information handling practices to pinpoint weak points — duplication, inconsistent classification, unclear ownership, poor documentation — and translate those findings into a practical improvement plan
· Prepare and work through client data to test assumptions and surface insights, making sure the resulting analysis is sound, reliable, and scalable to how the client actually operates
· Build data management frameworks, processes and documentation specific to each client's environment — designed to be repeatable and auditable rather than a one-off exercise
· Set up the templates, naming conventions, and classification structures that make a client's data usable and consistent across teams
· Work alongside Codida's backend and UI developers to make sure information management requirements are actually built into the systems being delivered, not just documented separately
· Put together written recommendations and reports for clients, pitched at a level their business (not just technical) stakeholders can act on
· Handle client data responsibly throughout — keeping sensitive files appropriately restricted and traceable
· Check in periodically on whether a data management framework is actually being followed once it's live, and adjust it where it isn't working
· Help build capability within client teams — sharing knowledge, simplifying processes where they've become overcomplicated, and contributing to how the client's data practices mature over time
· Keep pace with how data and information management expectations are shifting in the industries Codida serves, particularly mining and resources, and bring that back into client recommendations
Skills and Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (Information Management, Data Science, Business, Information Systems, or similar), or equivalent professional experience
· Track record of hands-on data analysis and/or building out information management practices in a real organisational setting
· Comfortable moving between the technical detail of a client's data and the plain-language advice a business stakeholder needs to act on it
· Some exposure to the data platforms/tools relevant to Codida's client work
· Confident communicating with non-technical stakeholders about data-related risk and opportunity
