We are an established, medium-sized food wholesale and distribution company looking for a Commercial Data & Insights Analyst to join our team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who wants to use data to make a real impact on business performance.
You will work closely with management across Sales, Purchasing, Finance and Operations, using data to help improve sales, profitability, stock management, purchasing and customer performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse sales, gross profit and margins
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Analyse customer and product performance
- Identify sales, cross-selling and customer retention opportunities
- Identify slow-moving, excess and short-dated stock
- Analyse pricing and product profitability
- Support demand forecasting and purchasing decisions
- Analyse supplier pricing and cost movements
- Automate recurring reports
- Turn data into clear commercial insights and recommendations
What We're Looking For
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Power BI, SQL and Excel
- Knowledge of Python or similar analytical tools would be advantageous
- Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly
- Commercial awareness and a willingness to learn
- Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field would be advantageous
Previous commercial experience is not required. Experience in data analysis, wholesale, distribution, FMCG, retail or supply chain would be advantageous.
