Design and develop innovative mechanical systems for advanced unmanned helicopter platforms, focusing on structural performance, reliability, and aerospace engineering excellence.
Your Role & Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical systems for unmanned helicopters, including structural components, landing gear, propulsion systems, and control mechanisms

Contribute to the design and development of composite structures or rotating machinery components such as rotor heads, turbines, and propellers

Apply expertise in composite materials to optimize weight, strength, and durability of aerospace components

Perform mechanical analysis and simulations, including hand calculations and simplified finite element analysis (FEA), to evaluate structural integrity and performance

Support the design and testing of rotating systems while ensuring reliability, vibration control, and mechanical performance

Conduct dynamic load assessments and fatigue analysis for rotor systems and gas turbine components

Collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams to build prototypes and execute validation testing activities

Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and operational requirements through testing and verification processes

Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including design specifications, testing procedures, and maintenance documentation

Work closely with electrical, aerodynamic, and software engineering teams to ensure integrated system performance

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality requirements

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by applying advancements and best practices in mechanical engineering and UAV technologies

Support international projects and travel as required
Required Technical & Professional Expertise

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience (Master’s degree with 2+ years considered equivalent)

Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the manned helicopter, UAV, or aerospace industry

Hands-on experience with either composite structures or rotating machinery and mechanical components is required

Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes

Proficiency with CAD software, preferably CREO, and mechanical simulation tools

Knowledge of structural analysis, mechanical simulations, and engineering calculations

Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

Good English language skills (written and spoken); German is desirable

Eligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizenship required)
