Lead the development of system architecture and integration for advanced UAV platforms while ensuring performance, compliance, and successful end-to-end system delivery.
Your Role & Responsibilities

Define and maintain the overall aircraft system architecture, ensuring seamless integration of all subsystems

Perform functional decomposition of aircraft systems including avionics, propulsion, guidance and control systems, and payload integration

Develop and manage top-level system requirements with full traceability to subsystem requirements and mission objectives

Provide oversight of Verification & Validation (V&V) planning and execution to ensure compliance with system-level requirements and industry standards

Lead interface management across mechanical, avionics, software, and payload subsystems

Ensure compliance with UAV regulations and certification standards including SC Light UAS and applicable aviation requirements

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams throughout the complete UAV development lifecycle

Guide and mentor junior system engineers while fostering a strong systems engineering culture

Create, maintain, and update systems engineering documentation including architecture models, interface control documents, requirement specifications, and design rationale

Participate in risk assessments, safety analysis, and airworthiness activities to support robust and compliant system designs

Support cross-functional teams and international projects while ensuring high engineering standards and quality throughout development
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering

10+ years of experience in aerospace or UAV systems engineering with strong expertise in system architecture, requirements management, and Verification & Validation

Proven experience leading systems engineering teams and defining aircraft system architectures

Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks including SC Light UAS, CS-27, and aerospace certification environments

Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar platforms

Familiarity with systems engineering standards including INCOSE, ISO 15288, and ARP4754A

Strong knowledge of Verification & Validation planning, system testing, integration activities, and systems engineering processes

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with the ability to balance technical rigor and practical engineering constraints

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality technical documentation

Proactive mindset with the ability to drive system-level decisions and identify technical risks early
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and regulatory authorities

Professional English language skills (written and spoken); German is desirable

Eligibility to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizenship required)
