We are currently seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** for our facility in Houston, TX.

**Job Summary:**

Responsible for the design, modification, and analysis of CORTEC products, ensuring that they are structurally sound and meet industry specifications.

**Essential Job Functions:**

* Create, check and approve designs, drawings, specifications, etc. of existing or new products. Ensure that assignments meet standards and performance requirements within area of expertise. * Interpret customer requirements and apply industry and company standards to provide product design and documentation. * Conduct analysis (stress, material, reliability, etc.) to ensure that designs work, make recommendations and develop alternative solutions with conclusions. * Assist in the evaluation of product failures and recommend corrective actions. * Consult with other departments on equipment designs and questions. Anticipate potential problems and proactively solve complex problems through creative thinking, using internal and external resources. * Participate in design review meetings as part of product verification and validation work. * Work with manufacturing personnel to effect value engineering practices throughout all phases of the design process.

**Education/Experience:**

* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering * 8\+ years of experience with choke valves or control valves * Machine Shop experience preferred * Proficient drafting and 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks * Experience with FEA and or CFD software is preferred.

The work days are Monday through Friday and the hours are 8am to 5pm. We do offer a Flex Friday option that allows employees to take off half a day every other Friday.
