Travel Consultant

Location: Cottingham, East Yorkshire


Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

At Cotton Travel, we’re passionate about creating unforgettable holidays and delivering exceptional customer service. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Travel Consultant to join our multi award-winning team based in Cottingham.

This position is based in our Cottingham branch. Applicants must be able to commute to the branch and have the legal right to work in the UK.

About the Role

As a Travel Consultant, you will work closely with customers from their initial enquiry through to their return home, providing expert advice, outstanding service, and tailored travel experiences. You’ll be part of a supportive team environment where success is shared, and customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do.

Preferred Experience

To be successful in this role, we are ideally looking for applicants with one of the following:

  • Previous retail travel agency experience; or

  • Previous experience within the wider travel industry; or

  • Significant customer-facing sales experience with a genuine passion for travel.

Equivalent experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service throughout every stage of the customer journey.

  • Create bespoke holiday itineraries tailored to individual customer requirements.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries.

  • Share travel offers and destination inspiration across our social media channels.

  • Use your destination and product knowledge to recommend suitable holidays.

  • Prepare professional quotations, itineraries and customer correspondence.

  • Process bookings accurately using supplier and in-house systems.

  • Manage customer bookings from enquiry through to travel and welcome-home follow-up.

  • Assist customers with pre-travel and post-travel enquiries.

  • Work with management to resolve customer concerns where required.

  • Conduct welcome home calls and gather customer feedback.

  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team.

  • Complete daily administrative tasks and branch procedures.

Performance Expectations

  • Follow Cotton Travel’s customer journey and booking procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant customer records.

  • Contribute towards shared monthly team objectives.

  • Participate in regular performance reviews.

Please note: Cotton Travel operates a team-based performance model. We do not operate individual sales targets.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
