Role Description
The Graveyard Baker is a full-time on-site role based at Couples Resorts in Negril. This role focuses on preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of baked goods during overnight shifts to ensure fresh products are available for guests each morning. Day-to-day responsibilities include mixing doughs and batters, baking breads and cookies, monitoring ovens and equipment, and adhering to standardized recipes and portion controls. The Graveyard Baker also assists with food preparation tasks related to the bakery, organizes, and maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment consistent with resort and food safety standards. Collaboration with the culinary team and clear communication with supervisors are essential to support high-quality guest experiences.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess bakery production skills, including experience working in a professional bakery environment.
- Candidates should possess baking skills, such as mixing, proofing, and baking a variety of items to consistent quality standards.
- Candidates should possess food preparation skills, including safe handling, measuring ingredients accurately, and following recipes.
- Candidates should possess specific product skills related to cookies and other pastries, including shaping, decorating, and finishing.
- Candidates should possess bread-making skills, including preparing, shaping, and baking different types of breads and rolls.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including HACCP or equivalent standards.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, stand for extended periods, and handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to follow directions and standard operating procedures.
- Previous experience in hotel, resort, or commercial bakery settings is an asset.
