Great Designs Start with Great Leadership.

Are you a strong technical professional who is equally passionate about developing people, building successful teams, and driving results?

Cyclonaire is looking for a Mechanical Design Supervisor to lead our Mechanical Design team in York, Nebraska. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who understands that success isn't just measured by the quality of the drawings produced, but also by the performance, development, and success of the people behind them.

In this role, you'll provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the Design team while ensuring our engineering processes support quality, efficiency, and manufacturing success. You'll serve as a critical connection between Engineering and Manufacturing, helping teams work together to turn complex designs into high-quality equipment.

We're looking for more than technical expertise. We need a leader who communicates effectively, builds trust, develops talent, addresses challenges, and takes ownership of team performance.

If you're energized by helping people succeed while continuously improving how work gets done, we'd like to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively address challenges, remove obstacles, and support the team's success

Drive Quality & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the integrity of design data and embedded metadata used for procurement and production
  • Develop and improve standard operating procedures, work instructions, templates, and design workflows
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce errors
  • Promote consistent design standards and best practices across the team
  • Provide technical guidance related to CAD software, PDM management, and manufacturability

Strengthen Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as a key connection between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure alignment and successful project execution
  • Communicate expectations, priorities, and project requirements clearly across teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to resolve challenges and improve processes
  • Balance design quality, manufacturability, and project timelines
  • Encourage team involvement in identifying opportunities and implementing improvements

What You'll Bring

Leadership Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience leading and developing people within an engineering or technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to establish expectations, provide meaningful feedback, and hold employees accountable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, motivate others, and foster collaboration
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations, resolve conflicts, and address performance concerns professionally
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to prioritize work, delegate responsibilities, and manage competing deadlines
  • A proactive leadership approach focused on coaching, continuous improvement, and team success
  • Strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions that support both people and business results

Technical Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent years of experience
  • Strong understanding of 3D modeling, 2D drafting, machine design, and manufacturing methods
  • Experience with CAD software and engineering design workflows

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
  • Understanding of SolidWorks, Vault PDM, and related CAD software is preferred
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, and design principles is desired

What Matters Most
