Our organisation is looking for an experienced Compliance and Risk Officer to strengthen our compliance, credit risk, and regulatory framework. This newly created role will focus primarily on Credit Risk Management, FICA Compliance, and National Credit Act (NCA) compliance, with additional support to our Legal Department.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing our FICA compliance programme
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with the National Credit Act
- Conducting customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD)
- Identifying and mitigating legal, operational, and compliance risks
- Supporting the Credit Committee and assisting with credit risk assessments
- Developing and maintaining compliance registers, policies, and procedures
- Assisting with compliance audits, regulatory inspections, and reporting
- Providing compliance training and guidance to staff
What you'll need:
- A qualification in Risk Management, Compliance, Credit Management, Law, Finance, or related field (BCom advantageous)
- AML/FICA/Compliance certification highly advantageous
- 3–5 years' experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Credit Control, or FICA Compliance
- Proven, non-negotiable practical knowledge of FICA and NCA compliance
- Prior experience in corporate compliance, financial services, credit, or legal environments
- Strong analytical skills, high integrity, and sound judgement
- Fluency in Afrikaans (spoken and written) — essential
