ENVIRONMENT:

Our client is an early-stage company developing innovative healthcare products and digital solutions. They are seeking a design-minded, AI-native Full-Stack Product Engineer to join their growing engineering team and contribute to building and evolving products from the ground up.

The role offers exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including frontend development, backend services, database design, API integrations, infrastructure and AI-powered functionality. The successful candidate will work closely with the technical lead and product, design and business stakeholders to translate complex and sometimes ambiguous problems into polished, practical and valuable software solutions.

DUTIES:

• Design, develop and maintain polished, responsive web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Build and enhance backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Design, develop and maintain PostgreSQL databases and efficient, scalable data models.
• Develop APIs, third-party integrations and event-driven workflows.
• Translate product concepts and design requirements into intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
• Contribute to greenfield development while maintaining, improving and evolving existing production systems.
• Take ownership of features throughout the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and solution design through implementation, testing, release and ongoing refinement.
• Analyse business and product problems, clarify requirements and evaluate technical trade-offs to identify appropriate solutions.
• Work effectively with incomplete or evolving specifications, exercising sound judgement and initiative.
• Apply AI agents, AI-assisted coding tools and automation throughout the software development lifecycle to improve engineering productivity, quality and delivery.
• Provide relevant context to AI coding agents, critically review generated code and ensure that solutions meet quality and functionality standards.
• Automate repetitive engineering processes and improve development, testing, code review and delivery workflows.
• Research, prototype and evaluate emerging technologies and tools that could improve product capabilities or engineering efficiency.
• Read, understand and troubleshoot unfamiliar codebases and existing systems.
• Collaborate with technical, product, design and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Communicate technical decisions and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop an understanding of the healthcare domain and the business problems being addressed to ensure that solutions are appropriate, reliable and valuable.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, usability, maintainability and overall software craftsmanship.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and the evolution of engineering practices as the company grows.

REQUIREMENTS

• Solid professional experience in software development, with the ability to independently deliver production-quality features.
• Strong TypeScript and web development fundamentals.
• Experience developing frontend applications using Angular or comparable modern web frameworks.
• Proficiency in HTML and CSS, with an understanding of responsive layouts and modern interface development.
• Experience developing backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of API development, integrations and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL and relational database design.
• Understanding of data modelling, application architecture and software development best practices.
• Experience working across frontend and backend systems, with the ability to contribute throughout the full development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with automated testing, code review, version control and software delivery workflows.
• Practical experience using modern AI-assisted development tools and coding agents, or a strong motivation to develop advanced proficiency in AI-native engineering practices.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code critically, validate its correctness and maintain appropriate engineering standards.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies, navigate existing codebases and adapt to an evolving technology stack.
• A good understanding of software design principles, usability and the relationship between technical implementation and product outcomes.
• Ability to analyse requirements, evaluate alternatives and make informed technical decisions without relying on detailed instructions for every task.
• Clear and professional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to explain technical concepts and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A basic understanding of business principles and the importance of delivering solutions that create measurable value.
• Healthcare industry experience is not essential, as domain knowledge will be developed on the job.
