About the Role
Help build the back-end services behind technology used in the intelligent infrastructure sector. You’ll join an agile team developing and maintaining cloud-native microservices, applications and APIs.
This is a hands-on senior role with a strong .NET focus. You’ll own work from design through delivery, explain the technical decisions behind your approach, and help lift the capability of more junior developers. You’ll also contribute practical patterns and blueprints to the wider back-end community of practice.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, test and maintain C#/.NET microservices, applications and APIs.
- Take ownership of initiatives from solution design through to production delivery.
- Make and explain technical decisions, including how .NET internals affect performance.
- Build services using containers, messaging, caching and service interfaces.
- Improve automated testing, CI/CD practices and delivery tools.
- Coach and support junior developers through code review, design guidance and mentoring.
- Contribute back-end patterns and blueprints, and collaborate across the business to improve delivery.
What You'll Need (Essential)
- At least 5 years’ experience in a cloud-native platform engineering and software product environment using Scrum and DevOps/SRE practices.
- Hands-on ownership developing production microservices, components or APIs with C#/.NET, plus practical knowledge of .NET internals relevant to performance.
- Experience with production messaging, caching and service interfaces, such as RabbitMQ or equivalent, Redis or equivalent, and REST, gRPC, AMQP or Protobuf.
- Experience with containers and public cloud services, ideally AWS, and confidence working in Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience with automated back-end testing and CI/CD pipelines, source control and artefact repositories.
- Production experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimisation.
- Evidence of delivering technical initiatives and improving the capability of other developers.
- Full working rights in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Terraform, Confluence, Jira, Prometheus or Grafana.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent proven experience.
