Northside was acquired by a Private Equity investor in early 2024 and as part of the company’s continued growth and development a new Finance Manager role is being created to support the Finance Director and manage the Finance function.
Role and Job Purpose:
We are looking for a self-motivated and commercially minded Finance Manager who can demonstrate strong levels of performance in this role.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will manage a small Finance Team and be responsible for ensuring high quality financial reporting, maintaining effective financial control and streamlining financial processes. The successful individual will assist the Finance Director in driving strategic decision making, optimising financial performance and ensure control across the business.
Given the growth plans of the business and associated requirements of the Finance function the role will provide an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to obtain broad experience, rapid professional growth and potential career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the transactional functions for Northside Graphics and its associated
companies
- Ensure efficient working capital and cash management
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in line with month end
process and reporting deadlines
- Maintain an effective credit control function
- Optimise efficiencies and functionality of new accounting system (Sage Intacct)
- Assist FD in developing reporting and insights gained from Sage Intacct and
Power BI systems
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax related returns and payments
- Preparation of audit files for the external auditors and liaising with the auditors
for the annual audit
- Maintain a framework and culture of financial control
- Other related activities as required
Essential Criteria
- Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong IT and Excel skills are required.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of Sage Accounting software, Power BI
- Experience of manufacturing businesses and product costing
- Experience of major systems implementation projects
- Experience with Opera, Accura or similar systems.
Skills Required
- Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to manage a small team
- Team player, flexible, and willing to support wider team deadlines.
