Diplomatik is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead CNC programming, manufacturing processes and continuous improvement for a specialist drilling and engineering operation in WA.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with practical leadership and a passion for improving safety, quality and production efficiency.

What will you do?
- Develop, prove and optimise CNC programs using Mastercam for turning and milling.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and support workshop teams.
- Improve cycle times, tooling, workflow and manufacturing methods.
- Review engineering drawings and develop tooling, fixtures and work instructions.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, waste reduction and continuous improvement.
- Investigate quality issues and reduce downtime, scrap and rework.
- Improve equipment maintenance and reliability.
- Coach technical staff and maintain high safety and quality standards.
What are we looking for?
- Engineering degree or relevant trade qualification with strong technical experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering, technical manufacturing or engineering management.
- Strong Mastercam CNC programming skills across turning and milling.
- Hands-on experience optimising CNC programs on the workshop floor.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and improve manufacturing processes.
- Experience leading or mentoring technical and trade personnel.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.
Experience in mining, drilling, oil and gas or heavy industrial manufacturing will be highly regarded. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, OEE, welding or heat treatment is also beneficial.
