Hotels need clean linen before rooms are prepared. Restaurants need their deliveries before service begins. Our distribution team connects the processing plant with those daily commitments.

As our Distribution Manager, you will oversee delivery and collection operations across central Kentucky and southern Indiana. You will lead drivers and dispatch colleagues, manage transport costs, and coordinate with Production to keep routes realistic and customers informed.

  • Reports to: Director of Operations.
  • Travel: Local and regional site visits; overnight travel is not normally required.

About Loomridge

Loomridge Linen Services supplies, launders, and delivers textiles for hotels, restaurants, and event venues. Our customers depend on regular collections, accurate deliveries, and clear communication when demand changes.

Our Louisville facility brings together textile processing, quality inspection, and distribution.

Your Team

You will oversee a team of approximately 20 employees through a Dispatch Supervisor and two Route Team Leads. Your operation includes 16 delivery vehicles and established routes serving both individual properties and hospitality groups.

Central Maintenance supports vehicle servicing. People Operations assists with recruitment, training records, and employee relations.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan route coverage, vehicle allocation, and staffing against confirmed service requirements.
  • Lead daily dispatch briefings and review readiness with Production.
  • Coach supervisors and route leads through regular feedback and performance reviews.
  • Monitor delivery timeliness, route completion, collection accuracy, and customer complaints.
  • Review overtime, fuel use, vehicle downtime, and other controllable transport costs.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and arrange suitable cover when vehicles are unavailable.
  • Investigate missed deliveries, loading errors, and recurring access problems.
  • Work with Account Management on delivery windows, seasonal demand, and new customer launches.
  • Maintain clear procedures for handovers, incidents, and proof-of-delivery records.
  • Present monthly operating results and recommended improvements.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least five years of experience in distribution, transport, route delivery, or a comparable logistics environment.
  • At least two years supervising drivers, dispatchers, or operational team leaders.
  • Experience managing delivery schedules, staffing, and transport costs.
  • Confidence making decisions when production delays or vehicle issues affect planned routes.
  • A practical understanding of commercial fleet operations and driver safety procedures.
  • Experience using dispatch software, operational reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Clear written and spoken English.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.

A college degree is not required. A commercial driver’s license is helpful but not required; routine delivery driving is outside this role’s responsibilities.

Nice to Have

Experience with recurring customer routes, reusable-container collections, hospitality deliveries, or commercial laundry operations.

Your Authority and Support

You will own distribution planning and daily resource allocation. Changes to contracted delivery commitments are agreed with Account Management and the customer.

Vehicle maintenance specialists determine technical roadworthiness. You are expected to stop dispatch when a vehicle, load, or operating condition is unsafe and arrange an appropriate alternative.

Major fleet purchases and spending above your approval limit require authorization from the Director of Operations.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary placement reflects relevant leadership experience, fleet size, and operational responsibility.

At target performance, the 10% annual bonus brings total cash compensation to $104,500–$132,000. Measures include service reliability, cost control, employee development, and safety practices. Reporting an incident does not itself reduce bonus eligibility. Written plan terms are provided before the performance period.

  • Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage from the first day of the month following hire. Loomridge pays 90% of employee premiums and 50% of dependent premiums.
  • 401(k): Dollar-for-dollar company match on the first 4% of eligible pay contributed, available after 90 days. Employer contributions vest immediately.
  • Paid leave: 20 vacation days accrued annually, 8 paid sick days, and 10 paid company holidays. Assigned holiday coverage includes an alternative paid day off.
  • Parental leave: 8 weeks of paid leave after 12 months of employment.
  • Insurance: Company-paid basic life and short-term disability coverage.
  • Equipment: Company laptop, mobile phone, and required protective equipment.
  • Footwear: Up to $200 annually toward approved safety footwear.
  • Development: Up to $1,500 annually for approved leadership or logistics training.
  • Relocation: Up to $5,000 reimbursement for approved moving expenses.
  • Parking: Free parking at the Louisville facility.

Working Conditions and Coverage

Your day will include time in the dispatch office, loading area, and vehicle yard. You may accompany drivers on planned route observations. Required site training and protective equipment are provided.

After onboarding, you will join a management escalation rota approximately one week in six for urgent distribution issues outside normal hours. Phone advice is usually sufficient, but occasional site attendance may be necessary. This responsibility is included in the salaried position; substantial incident work is followed by an agreed schedule adjustment.

How We Work

We expect managers to understand the route before changing the target. Traffic, loading readiness, customer access, and collection volumes all affect what a team can realistically deliver.

Drivers and dispatchers are encouraged to raise concerns early. Your role is to establish priorities, remove obstacles, and make sure the next shift receives accurate information.

Your First 90 Days

  • First month: Meet the team, observe representative routes, and review service commitments and fleet availability.
  • Second month: Take ownership of staffing, dispatch reviews, and distribution reporting.
  • Third month: Implement a focused improvement to route reliability, handovers, or avoidable costs.

Success means dependable deliveries, supported employees, well-maintained vehicles, and sustainable operating performance.

Hiring Process

  • A 30-minute introductory call with the Director of Operations.
  • A 60-minute discussion of team leadership and a fictional delivery disruption.
  • A facility visit to meet dispatch and production colleagues.

No unpaid trial shift or take-home assignment is required. Approved interview travel expenses are covered. The process typically takes two to three weeks.

Eligibility and Application

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship and able to work regularly in Louisville.

Please submit an English-language résumé. A cover letter is optional. Any offer is subject to relevant employment checks and a driving-record review, with candidate consent.

Reasonable accommodations are available throughout the interview process.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave
  • Professional development assistance
  • Vision insurance
