About Us

Pro Pacific DKI, part of DKI Canada—North America’s largest property restoration contracting network—is proud to be Vancouver Island owned and operated. Serving communities from Courtenay/Comox to Duncan, we respond 24/7/365 to help home and business owners recover when disaster strikes. As a preferred vendor to many of Canada’s largest insurance companies, we pride ourselves on empathy, excellence, and a "customer first" culture. With a strong team of people, we don't just offer jobs—we build long-term careers.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Junior Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will support senior project management functions while learning the ropes of our industry-leading restoration process. This is a developmental role perfect for a professional with foundational construction or restoration experience looking to step into project management, build key relationships, and grow within a high-performance team.

What You Will Do:

Project Management Support

  • Process Adherence: Support the delivery of restoration projects by strictly following the company’s project management roadmap from initial intake to final sign-off.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Assist with day-to-day communications alongside senior managers, keeping home and business owners, insurance adjusters, and sub-contractors aligned and informed.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits to ensure all active projects meet or exceed customer expectations for product delivery, safety, and craftsmanship.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor key internal and external performance metrics (KPIs) under the guidance of senior staff to help drive continuous improvement.
  • Customer Service: Cultivate a "customer first" culture by showing strong empathy to clients navigating stressful property losses.
  • Relationship Building: Assist in maintaining existing client relationships and identifying local business development opportunities.

Project Finance Assistance

  • Estimating Support: Learn and assist with reviewing estimates to ensure project margins comply with corporate guidelines.
  • Budget Tracking: Actively track project expenditures to ensure jobs are managed tightly to budget or better.
  • Invoicing & Admin: Help coordinate timely and accurate project invoicing alongside the Accounting and Project Office teams.
  • Receivables: Monitor unpaid accounts and assist with respectful follow-ups to ensure healthy project cash flow.

What You Will Bring

  • Foundational Experience: 1–3 years of experience in property restoration, carpentry, general contracting, or a closely related construction trade.
  • Industry Aptitude: Exposure to—or a strong willingness to learn—restoration estimating software (Xactimate) and Time & Materials (T&M) scoping.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of Canadian construction practices; familiarization with water, wind, fire, mold, or asbestos mitigation practices is considered a strong asset.
  • Team-Oriented Mindset: Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, high-performance team.
  • Relationship Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Logistics: Valid BC Driver's License with a clean abstract and the ability to pass a criminal record check.

We Offer

  • Opportunities for Growth: A clear pathway to full Project Manager status. We actively invest in your future, providing industry-related education, certifications, and hands-on training.
  • A Rewarding Career: An empowered environment where your contributions directly help local families and businesses recover from disasters.
  • Great Company Culture: A professional team environment covering Vancouver Island where excellence is pursued and success is celebrated.
  • Competitive Compensation: Fair, competitive base salary structured for a junior professional, bonus opportunities, and extended health benefits starting on day one of employment.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
