Senior Fit-out Project Manager – Remote Philippines

About the Role
AGC Interior is seeking an experienced Senior Fit-out Project Manager to support the delivery of live commercial interior fit-out projects in Australia.
This role is suited to a construction professional with strong practical project delivery and site experience who can independently coordinate projects, review drawings, manage subcontractors and suppliers, monitor programme and procurement, investigate construction issues, and recommend practical solutions.
This is not a junior Construction Coordinator, administrative, or document-control role.
The successful candidate should already have strong construction knowledge and be capable of taking meaningful ownership of day-to-day project coordination with minimal supervision.
Candidates with experience in restaurant, café, F&B, commercial kitchen, retail, hospitality, and other complex commercial fit-outs will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Support multiple live commercial interior fit-out projects from construction commencement through to handover.
- Review architectural, construction, joinery, services, and coordination drawings.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Monitor project programmes, construction sequencing, dependencies, and critical activities.
- Follow up procurement, materials, deliveries, approvals, and outstanding project actions.
- Identify potential delays, trade conflicts, scope gaps, and construction risks before they become critical.
- Coordinate MEPF / building services requirements across relevant trades.
- Investigate construction issues and propose practical, commercially sensible solutions.
- Assist with RFIs, variations, scope changes, project clarifications, and construction queries.
- Monitor quality, defects, rectification works, and handover requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records and provide clear, concise project status updates.
- Communicate directly with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve routine project matters.
- Escalate issues only when a Project Manager, Director, or senior management decision is genuinely required.
Required Experience
We are looking for candidates with:
- Strong commercial interior fit-out construction experience.
- Genuine site-based construction and project delivery experience.
- Previous experience as a Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Project-in-Charge, Construction Manager, Senior Site Engineer, or similar construction role.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination, and trade interfaces.
- Experience directly managing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, construction, joinery, and services drawings.
- Experience managing procurement, materials, and project programmes.
- Good understanding of MEPF / building services coordination.
- Experience with QA/QC, defects, completion, and project handover.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Strong problem-solving, judgement, ownership, and independent decision-making skills.
Approximately 8+ years of construction experience is preferred, although strong candidates with slightly less experience may also be considered where they can demonstrate substantial responsibility and strong fit-out capability.
Preferred Industry Experience
Priority will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Restaurant fit-outs
- Café fit-outs
- F&B fit-outs
- Commercial kitchens
- Retail fit-outs
- Shopping centre fit-outs
- Hospitality fit-outs
- Office fit-outs
- Other complex commercial interior projects
Experience coordinating projects involving electrical, hydraulic/plumbing, mechanical and exhaust systems, fire services, kitchen equipment, joinery, finishes, and other building services will be highly regarded.
Australian Construction Experience
Previous Australian construction experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
We are more interested in candidates with strong construction judgement, genuine project responsibility, practical site experience, and the ability to independently research unfamiliar technical or compliance requirements.
AI and Technical Research Skills
The successful candidate should be comfortable using AI and modern online research tools as part of their project management workflow.
You should be able to investigate unfamiliar requirements relating to different projects, jurisdictions, or technical issues, including:
- Building codes
- Construction standards
- Compliance requirements
- Product and manufacturer requirements
- Technical construction details
- Consultant requirements
- Project specifications
- Local authority or approval requirements
AI may be used to assist with research and investigation, but important technical, compliance, and construction information must be checked against reliable and authoritative sources before being applied to a project.

Ideal Candidate
This role is best suited to an experienced fit-out construction professional who has already managed real construction projects, site activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and project issues.
Candidates whose experience is primarily in administration, document control, junior coordination, estimating-only, or quantity surveying without substantial project/site delivery responsibility are unlikely to be suitable for this position.
