Packaging Machinery / Maintenance Engineer

Full Time | Permanent

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Packaging Machinery / Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

This is a varied role for someone who understands packaging and converting machinery and is equally comfortable responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and getting hands-on with production equipment when required.

The Role

You will be responsible for helping to keep our production machinery running efficiently and reliably, with a particular focus on folder-gluers and die-cutting equipment.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults

· Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns

· Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime

· Identifying potential faults and wear before they result in breakdowns

· Servicing, maintaining and adjusting production machinery

· Maintaining appropriate critical spares and identifying replacement parts

· Supporting machine installations, modifications and improvements

· Working with production to improve machine reliability, efficiency and performance

· Keeping appropriate maintenance and servicing records

· Operating or assisting on production machinery when required to provide cover or additional support

About You

We are looking for someone with strong practical engineering skills and, ideally, previous experience within the corrugated, carton, print or packaging industry.

Experience working with Bobst folder-gluers and/or die-cutters would be particularly valuable.

You should have:

· Previous experience maintaining industrial production machinery

· Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills

· A good understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems

· Experience of planned preventative maintenance

· The ability to diagnose problems and work independently

· A practical, hands-on approach

· A willingness to work directly on production machinery when required

· A focus on preventing problems rather than simply reacting to breakdowns

Previous experience operating folder-gluers, die-cutters or other packaging/converting machinery would be a significant advantage.

We would also be interested in hearing from experienced machine operators/setters with strong engineering knowledge who are looking to move further into an engineering and maintenance role.

What We’re Looking For

Above all, we want someone who understands production machinery and takes ownership of keeping it running.

You’ll be joining a busy manufacturing environment where reliability and quick problem-solving are important, so we’re looking for someone who can combine reactive engineering, preventative maintenance and practical production knowledge.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Hours: Full time Contract: Permanent

To apply, please send your CV together with a brief summary of your experience with packaging, converting or similar production machinery.

Pay: £35,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Free parking
