ECS is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Intermediate, Cyber Infrastructure) to work remotely providing infrastructure support for the work performed under this contract for NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) . All other tasks are intended to facilitate the implementation and operation of Network and Cybersecurity. This engagement supports current and future technologies including evaluating, planning for, and implementing new technologies in the NIAID and NIH environment in response to changing business strategies, policy, and regulatory changes. Please Note: This position is contingent upon [contract win]. The Systems Engineer (Intermediate, Cyber Infrastructure) is responsible for coordinating and/or performing additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems and attached devices. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems and attached devices; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols. Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including support teams and ensuring quality of service operations. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or related field. Active Public Trust or higher security clearance. Strong supervisory skills in managing system configuration and operation. Experience working with network hardware and operating systems. Experience performing investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. Reside within the Washington DC Metro area. Travel within the Washington DC Metro Area, and CONUS as needed.
