Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Manager to lead and optimize our supply chain and distribution processes. Duties
- Manage daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation activities to meet organizational goals.
- Supervise logistics team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a motivated and efficient workforce.
- Oversee the use of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP systems to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure service levels are met or exceeded while controlling costs.
- Monitor profit and loss (P&L) statements related to logistics activities, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
- Implement process improvements across supply chain functions using continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper forklift operation and warehouse safety protocols.
- Oversee shipping & receiving procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy within Warehouse Management System (WMS) and AS400 platforms.
- Lead initiatives for process automation and system upgrades to enhance operational productivity.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in logistics or supply chain management with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of profit & loss management within a logistics context.
- Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and AS400 systems.
- Knowledge of 3PL partnerships, shipping & receiving processes, and warehouse operations including forklift certification or experience operating forklifts.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements through continuous improvement strategies like Lean or Six Sigma.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments and external partners.
- Experience in logistics planning, supply chain optimization, and warehouse experience is highly desirable.
