About the role
You’ll join a backend engineering team within Content Catalog domain.
The team builds and operates systems that manage content and make it available. You’ll contribute to projects that improve how these systems work together, simplify their architecture, and support their reliability and maintainability. Your initial assignment will be agreed based on business priorities and your experience.
Collaboration and communication are central to this role. You’ll work with engineering teams, product managers, and other partners across the company to understand product requirements, clarify dependencies, and agree practical solutions. You’ll connect technical decisions to product outcomes and build shared understanding among people with different perspectives and areas of expertise.
The team will support you with domain knowledge and technical context as you take responsibility for a defined project, from discovery through implementation and handover.
What you'll do
-
Work with product managers and partners across the company to understand user needs, clarify requirements, and agree scope, responsibilities, and an achievable delivery plan.
-
Communicate technical approaches, tradeoffs, progress, and risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, helping teams make informed decisions.
-
Explore existing backend services, APIs, and data flows, then design, implement, and test improvements that meet product needs and support reliable, maintainable systems.
-
Coordinate migrations, integrations, or service improvements across teams, managing dependencies and preserving continuity for their users.
-
Evaluate changes through testing, monitoring, and production feedback, and share documentation and knowledge to support ongoing ownership.
Who you are
You have solid experience building and operating backend services and APIs in production at scale, and you are proficient in a backend language such as Java, Scala, Go, or similar.
You understand API design, schema evolution, and backward compatibility in systems where stability matters, and you are comfortable modelling data for auditability, versioning, and efficient querying.
You have worked with data pipelines and understand the tradeoffs between real time and batch processing. You are comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases, ramping up quickly in new domains, and contributing meaningfully without needing to own the full context from day one.
You think carefully about the downstream impact of what you build, from how policy logic is structured to how it surfaces in enforcement decisions and regulatory reporting.
You have worked in regulated or compliance sensitive environments, or you are keen to develop that experience.
You collaborate well across teams and can build trust quickly with new groups.
You communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and can identify the most impactful work without always having it defined for you.
