POSITION: Landscaping & Construction Operations Manager
MISSION:
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the daily success of Emerald Property Maintenance. Your primary mission is to be the face of the company in the community—conducting professional onsite quotes, attending neighbourhood meetings, and ensuring flawless project execution. You will work together with our internal scheduler to ensure every job is quoted, booked, and followed through, while performing strict quality control so our clients are always thrilled with the final result.

We are hunting for an organized, experienced industry professional with natural leadership qualities and a sharp eye for detail. You know what a perfectly graded lawn looks like, you know what a sturdy, well-built deck requires, and you love building relationships with homeowners.
You are a proactive communicator who can seamlessly pass logistics details back to a remote scheduler. Most importantly, you bring a positive energy that uplifts our crews and fosters trust with our clients.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Quotes & Community Sales: Professionally represent the Emerald brand at community meetings and conduct accurate, timely onsite estimates for landscaping, decking, and fencing projects.
- Logistics & Scheduling Liaison: Partner daily with our scheduler to ensure the pipeline moves seamlessly from initial quote to booking, scheduling, and final sign-off.
- Quality Control Audits: Drop in on active job sites to check on progress, enforce safety standards, and ensure the work meets Emerald’s high craftsmanship standards.
- Client Satisfaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients during production; handle any adjustments or complaints with a customer-first attitude.
- Crew Support: Keep crews motivated, ensure they have the clear specs they need to succeed on-site, and verify that jobs are completed on time and on budget.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in landscaping maintenance, hardscaping, or residential carpentry/deck/fence construction.
- Estimating Skills: Proven ability to accurately measure properties, calculate labor hours, and estimate material costs.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing multiple moving parts, tight timelines, or leading field crews.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must for community-facing meetings and internal team syncing.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using field management software/CRMs (like Jobber or LMN) and smartphones for real-time tracking.
- Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (essential for travel between Victoria job sites).
- Gear: Smartphone with a data plan and personal PPE (steel-toe boots).

- Salary/Wage: $33.00–$40.00 per hour (or competitive salary equivalent based on experience).
- Vehicle: Company truck OR Km reimbursement it using personal vehicle.
