This role is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of EOS's network infrastructure across domestic and international locations.
The Senior Network Engineer is part of the ICT Infrastructure team based in Symonston, ACT. The role is responsible for the administration, management, and maintenance of core Network services at various EOS locations. This is a hands-on technical role to ensure that the company’s on-premises and Cloud Infrastructure is maintained and supported to meet the company requirements.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be a part of a small team in the Network space, to drive quality, reliability and consistency of our systems, and end user support levels.
Primary Duties:
- To support the existing network infrastructure – maintaining, monitoring of health and performance of networks in EOS offices
- Assist with implementation and documentation of networks in new locations.
- Assist with implementation and documentation of network upgrades to all locations.
- Assist with configuration management and asset management of the network infrastructure.
- Assist with monitoring of the EOS security Layers
- Support and assistance with server connectivity and storage etc on Microsoft OS, Hyper-V, and Nutanix environments
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge in the areas of networking and security principles.
- Strong knowledge with network monitoring and network monitoring tools
- Cisco Meraki Network Infrastructure maintenance, operation and support
- Cisco Identity Services Engine maintenance, operation and support
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- Good understanding of on-premises networking and firewall solutions
- Awareness of ASD's Essential Eight security controls and DISP certification
- Experience with deploying 802.1x and other network security mechanisms
- Experience with Microsoft Azure landing zones and networking
- Solution oriented and problem solver
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
- Disciplined and methodical in managing work activities and outcomes.
- Strong analytical abilities to understand issues and opportunities that drive service improvements.
- Ability to document designs and technical solutions
- Understanding of IT Change Management and Risk Management.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
