Brand Manager – E-commerce & D2C

We are looking for a Brand Manager to drive the growth of an online-first consumer brand across E-commerce and D2C. The role requires a strong combination of brand thinking, creative sensibility, commercial understanding and hands-on execution. The person will be responsible for taking marketing initiatives end-to-end — from identifying the opportunity and developing the brief, to working with agencies and internal teams, managing shoots and content production, getting assets live across E-commerce and D2C, and evaluating performance.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating across brand, creative, E-commerce, social media, influencer marketing, PR and digital, while maintaining a strong focus on business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Brand & Marketing Strategy

  • Own the development and execution of brand and marketing initiatives aligned with business and category objectives.
  • Build strong brand positioning, communication and consumer propositions across products and categories.
  • Identify consumer insights, market trends and category opportunities to sharpen brand direction and communication.
  • Develop and manage the annual brand and marketing calendar, including key campaigns, launches and brand moments.
  • Ensure consistency of brand identity, visual language and tone of voice across all consumer touchpoints.

2. E-commerce & D2C

  • Drive the brand experience and communication across marketplaces and D2C.
  • Work closely with E-commerce teams to ensure that product listings, A+ content, storefronts, product images, videos and other consumer-facing assets are updated and optimised.
  • Have a strong understanding of the consumer journey from discovery → consideration → purchase, and identify opportunities to improve communication and conversion.
  • Ensure new launches, offers, campaigns and product updates are reflected accurately and consistently across E-commerce and D2C platforms.
  • Understand the role of content and creative in driving both consideration and conversion.

3. Creative & Content Ownership

  • Develop clear, insight-led creative briefs for agencies and internal teams.
  • Bring a strong creative point of view and evaluate concepts, scripts, visual language and content with a brand-first lens.
  • Work with creative agencies to develop campaigns, product communication, social content and digital assets.
  • Own creative projects end-to-end — from briefing and ideation to production, shoot execution, post-production and final delivery.
  • Plan and execute still shoots, product shoots, unboxing videos, application videos, product descriptor videos and other content requirements.
  • Be involved in the details of shoots including concepts, scripts, references, casting, locations, props, production requirements and timelines.
  • Ensure that the final output meets the intended creative and business objective.

4. Agency & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with external agencies across creative, digital, social media, influencer marketing and PR.
  • Provide clear briefs, timelines, deliverables and feedback to agencies.
  • Push agencies to bring stronger strategic and creative thinking rather than simply executing briefs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely closure of deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, agencies, production partners and other vendors to ensure seamless execution.

5. Social Media & Influencer Marketing

  • Understand social platforms, content formats, trends and evolving consumer behaviour.
  • Identify opportunities for relevant, engaging and brand-building content.
  • Work with influencer partners/agencies on creator selection, briefing, content development, execution and utilisation of influencer assets.
  • Understand how influencer content can contribute not only to reach and engagement but also to consideration and conversion.

6. PR & Brand Visibility

  • Work with PR agencies to identify relevant brand, product and category stories.
  • Develop communication opportunities around product launches, consumer trends, category developments and brand milestones.
  • Ensure PR initiatives are aligned with the larger brand narrative and positioning.

7. Product Launches

  • Own the end-to-end marketing lifecycle of product launches, working closely with product, E-commerce, management and other internal teams.
  • Develop launch plans covering positioning, communication, creative assets, E-commerce requirements, social, influencer, PR and digital.
  • Ensure all launch assets are briefed, produced, approved and deployed within timelines.
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure launch readiness across all relevant consumer touchpoints.

8. Performance & Business Understanding

  • Track relevant brand and campaign KPIs and evaluate marketing effectiveness.
  • Work with performance marketing and E-commerce teams to understand traffic, engagement, conversion and other business metrics.
  • Use performance and consumer insights to improve creative, communication and future campaigns.
  • Manage marketing budgets and track spends against planned activities.

9. AI & Emerging Marketing Tools

  • Have a strong understanding of AI-powered marketing and creative tools, including generative AI, automation and analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI to improve the speed, quality and efficiency of content creation, research, creative development and marketing execution.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in brand marketing, preferably with an online-first, E-commerce or D2C consumer brand or advertising agency.
  • MBA in Marketing from a Tier 1/2 institute preferred.
  • Strong understanding of E-commerce and D2C business models.
  • Experience managing external creative, digital, social, influencer and/or PR agencies.
  • Strong creative bent with the ability to develop a good brief and critically evaluate creative work and have strategic bent.
  • Experience managing projects end-to-end from briefing and ideation through shoots, production and final execution.
  • Good understanding of social media, influencer marketing, PR and digital marketing.
  • Experience with E-commerce platforms, including product listings, A+ content and storefront management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong project management skills with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to connect brand initiatives to business outcomes.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight timelines.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is not limited to strategy or coordination. The ideal candidate should be able to move seamlessly between thinking and doing — from understanding the business problem and writing the brief, to challenging the agency, getting the shoot executed, ensuring the final assets are delivered, getting them live across E-commerce/social/D2C and looking at what worked.

In short, someone who can think like a brand manager, create like a marketer and execute like an owner.

What’s in it for you?

  • Be at the core of the brand's next phase of growth and help shape its positioning and consumer proposition.
  • Work across brand, E-commerce, D2C, creative, social, influencer and digital, with end-to-end ownership.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Opportunity to build and scale an online-first consumer brand across multiple categories.
  • Continuous mentorship from leaders and peers.
  • A young, high-performance and entrepreneurial work culture.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with market benchmarks.
