Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join an Australian insurance business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining a cloud-based PostgreSQL data warehouse, building automated data pipelines, integrating business systems, and ensuring data accuracy, security, and reliability.

This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong expertise in SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, data engineering, and API integrations.

The ideal candidate has experience managing production data platforms independently, resolving complex data issues, and ensuring financial and operational data is accurate and consistent across systems.

Note: This role focuses on data engineering and platform management rather than dashboard development or traditional business intelligence reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a cloud-based PostgreSQL data warehouse, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop and maintain fully automated data pipelines that extract, transform, validate, and load data from multiple business systems.
• Design and maintain structured data models, transformation processes, and standardized data definitions.
• Monitor automated data processes, investigate pipeline failures, and implement effective solutions.
• Perform financial and operational data reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies across systems.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor REST API integrations, including data extraction and controlled write-backs.
• Implement and maintain database access controls, data security, and governance procedures.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve data quality issues, including missing, duplicated, or inconsistent records.
• Maintain monitoring systems, audit logs, technical documentation, and data validation processes.
• Implement CI/CD workflows, version control, and automated deployment processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Claims, Customer Service, and Engineering teams on data-related requirements and investigations.
• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to support development, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or data-intensive Backend Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience managing production data pipelines involving financial or ledger reconciliation.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and strong PostgreSQL experience, including complex joins, window functions, data validation, JSONB, and database access controls.
• Strong Python development skills, including automation, data processing, API integrations, error handling, logging, and testing.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouse structures.
• Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs, including authentication, pagination, and reliable data processing.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, database security, role-based access, and data governance.
• Proven ability to investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with remote international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Experience integrating with OutSystems, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or ServiceNow.
• Experience working remotely with international teams.
• Knowledge of financial reconciliation, audit controls, and compliance-related data processes.

Work Arrangement

• 100% remote within the Philippines.
• Full-time, permanent position.
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Sydney Time.
• Senior individual contributor position with no direct reports.
• Reports directly to the Head of Analytics.

Pay: Php100,000.00 - Php150,000.00 per month
