We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Commercial team in the position of Key Account Manager.

The successful candidate will optimise sales revenue and profitability across a portfolio of builder accounts through effective account ownership, strategic customer planning, and continuous service improvement initiatives, and promote Forterra's products and services within the designated account portfolio, whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers. Working collaboratively with customers and internal stakeholders, develop and implement strategic business development plans that align with both Forterra's commercial objectives and the customer's long-term business goals, driving sustainable growth and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Your duties would include but not limited to the following:

  • Deliver targeted revenue, margin and account growth objectives by effectively managing account performance, including pricing strategy, average selling price (ASP), margin expectations, rebates, framework agreements, fixed-price and sole-supply contracts, whilst maintaining strong ledger control, payment compliance and minimising aged debt.
  • Develop and deliver strategic account plans, leveraging stakeholder, competitor analysis, pipeline management, customer feedback and market intelligence to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Drive sustainable growth and establish measurable objectives aligned with both Forterra's commercial priorities and customer expectations.
  • Lead strategic account reviews which includes pipeline management to drive portfolio growth, optimise scheduling effectiveness and apply strong product and technical expertise to identify customer opportunities and support specification decisions.
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in Part L, Future Homes Standards and evolving regulatory frameworks, leveraging this knowledge to influence customer decision-making, support technical compliance, and position Forterra as a trusted partner.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Senior Customer Stakeholders across customer head office, regional offices, procurement, technical and construction functions to optimise service performance, improve scheduling efficiencies, and support the successful delivery of strategic account objectives.
  • Obtain forecasting and demand planning, maintain accurate pipeline data, provide visibility to optimise manufacturing to support cost efficient production planning.
  • Work collaboratively with internal key stakeholders, finance, design, technical, innovation and sustainability to deliver the requirements of the role.

About You:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing key accounts, identifying new business opportunities and delivering profitable growth, preferably within the construction materials or construction sector
  • High degree of commercial acumen and results-driven
  • Strong ownership and accountability mindset
  • Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative with a strong relationship-building approach
  • Works autonomously and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to identify and act on opportunities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Sales or business qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Full valid UK driving licence required.
  • National travel and overnight stays are expected.
