We are looking for a Front End Developer to build and maintain responsive web applications and user interfaces.
You will work with designers, backend developers, and other members of the technology team to turn designs and requirements into reliable, accessible, and well-structured web experiences. The role is suited to someone with practical front-end development experience and a good understanding of modern web development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive web pages and front-end applications.
- Build reusable components and interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Work from designs and technical requirements to deliver accurate web interfaces.
- Write clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Work with React or a similar front-end framework.
- Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs and backend services.
- Test interfaces across common browsers and screen sizes.
- Investigate and resolve front-end bugs and performance issues.
- Work with designers to improve usability, accessibility, and consistency.
- Use Git for source control and follow established development processes.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
- Support website updates, enhancements, and new feature development.
- Monitor front-end performance and help improve page loading and reliability.
- Maintain technical documentation where required.
- Work with the wider development team on releases and production issues.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional experience in front-end web development.
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Practical experience with React, Angular, Vue, or a similar framework.
- Understanding of responsive web design and browser compatibility.
- Experience working with REST APIs and JSON.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Good understanding of web accessibility and basic SEO principles.
- Experience debugging front-end issues using browser developer tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with designers and developers.
- Experience with TypeScript is beneficial but not essential.
- Familiarity with testing tools or front-end build tools is useful.
- Relevant degree, qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional additional support may be required around planned releases or important project deadlines.
