About the role
We are a small product engineering team in Bengaluru building two live products. The first is a smart kiosk business. The second is a real-time multiplayer games platform.
AI coding agents (Claude Code) are central to how we build. Every feature starts with a written spec and plan, the agent does much of the typing, and the engineer owns the design, the review and the proof that it works. We want a developer who already works this way, or clearly can, and who cares more about shipped, verified software than about who typed it.
What you will do
- Build and ship features across backend and frontend on both products, from spec to production.
- Work with AI coding agents every day: write clear specs and plans, direct the agent, review every line it produces and reject what is wrong.
- Design and build REST APIs and real-time (WebSocket) features in TypeScript on Node.js, using NestJS and Express.
- Model data and write migrations in PostgreSQL, using TypeORM and Prisma.
- Build three kinds of interface in React and Next.js with Tailwind CSS: a portrait touchscreen kiosk UI built to Figma, an operator admin panel, and mobile-first multiplayer game screens in three languages.
- Work on payment flows (Razorpay UPI QR and Checkout, webhooks, reconciliation) where correctness matters more than speed.
- Make changes to the Python (FastAPI) service that runs on each kiosk's Raspberry Pi and reports to the cloud.
- Write tests with Jest and Vitest, and verify changes against the real running app, not only a passing suite.
- Deploy and operate what you build: Docker, AWS (EC2, S3, Amplify), Vercel, Nginx, GitLab CI, and Ansible for the kiosk fleet.
- Keep documentation, API contracts (OpenAPI) and decision records current as part of each change.
- Debug across layers: browser, API, database and, now and then, a device on the bench.
What we are looking for
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience building web applications.
- Strong TypeScript on both server and client.
- Backend: Node.js with NestJS or Express, REST API design, authentication (JWT, OTP) and input validation.
- Frontend: React with Next.js or Vite, and Tailwind CSS. You can turn a Figma design into an accurate, responsive UI.
- PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations and transactions.
- Hands-on use of an AI coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar) on real projects, with the judgment to spot when its output is wrong.
- Enough Python to read and change a small FastAPI service, or the willingness to pick it up quickly.
- Comfortable on the Linux command line: SSH, Docker and reading logs.
- Git with branches, merge requests and code review.
- Clear written English. You will write specs, handoff notes and merge request descriptions that both people and AI agents act on.
- The habit of owning a problem end to end: find the cause, fix it, verify it and say plainly what is still open.
Good to have
- Socket.IO or other real-time systems.
- Payment gateway integration (Razorpay or similar), webhooks and idempotency.
- AWS, Nginx or Caddy, Ansible and WireGuard.
- Raspberry Pi, serial devices, ESP32 or other IoT work.
- LLM API integration (OpenAI or Claude) inside a product feature.
- Internationalisation (i18next), QR codes and location-based check-in.
- shadcn/ui, TanStack Query, React Hook Form and Zod.
- Test-driven development, OpenAPI and generated client types.
What you get
- Real ownership in a small team, working directly with the technical lead.
- Paid AI tooling provided by the company.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
