Aventra Solutions is a Toronto-based software development company building custom web applications, SaaS platforms, and digital products for startups and growing businesses.
We are currently expanding our team for a new B2B fintech startup project developed in partnership with a Toronto-based client. The platform will help Canadian businesses manage payments, expenses, invoicing, financial reporting, and cash-flow insights.
We are looking for a Middle+ Full Stack Developer with 3+ years of professional experience who is comfortable working across React, Node.js, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure. You will join a dedicated product team and contribute to the product from architecture and implementation through deployment and production support.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-stack applications using React, Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS
- Develop responsive interfaces based on Figma designs and product requirements
- Design and maintain REST APIs and backend services
- Work with PostgreSQL, Prisma, database schemas, queries, indexes, and transactions
- Implement authentication, authorization, validation, logging, and API security
- Integrate third-party financial, payment, and accounting services
- Build reusable React components, forms, dashboards, and data-driven interfaces
- Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Write automated tests and participate in code reviews
- Work with AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines
- Troubleshoot application and production issues
- Collaborate with developers, designers, QA, Product, and client stakeholders
- Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and technical discussions
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Professional backend experience with Node.js
- Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
- Good understanding of SQL, database design, indexes, transactions, and migrations
- Experience with authentication and authorization, including JWT or OAuth
- Good understanding of HTTP, REST, JSON, CORS, and common web concepts
- Experience with Git, GitHub, pull requests, and code reviews
- Familiarity with automated testing and debugging production applications
- Understanding of common web security practices
- Ability to independently take features from requirements to deployment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
- Experience working in Agile or fast-paced product environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NestJS, Next.js, Prisma, AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, Redis, GraphQL, or message queues is considered an asset.
Experience with SaaS platforms, fintech, payments, banking, accounting software, Stripe, Plaid, or similar third-party integrations is also valuable.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Sentry or CloudWatch, security standards such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS, and previous work with startups or external clients is a plus.
About the Project
The initial project is a newly funded B2B fintech platform for Canadian businesses focused on payments, expense management, invoicing, financial dashboards, reporting, user permissions, and third-party financial integrations.
Because the platform is being built from an early stage, developers will have meaningful input into architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and technical decisions.
As Aventra grows, there may also be opportunities to contribute to other client applications and internal products.

We value developers who can do more than simply complete assigned tickets. You should be comfortable understanding requirements, proposing technical solutions, implementing them, and supporting features after deployment.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership, writes maintainable code, understands technical trade-offs, communicates clearly, and is comfortable working in an evolving product environment.

Pay: $90,000.00-$134,000.00 per year
