Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Freight Pricing Manager to manage pricing activities for international air and ocean freight. The candidate will be responsible for obtaining competitive freight rates, negotiating with shipping lines, airlines and overseas agents, preparing quotations, managing RFQs and tenders, and ensuring profitable pricing for the business.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage end-to-end pricing for Air Freight and Ocean Freight (Import & Export).
· Obtain and negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs, co-loaders and overseas agents.
· Prepare accurate and timely freight quotations, spot rates, RFQs and commercial proposals.
· Handle FCL, LCL, air cargo pricing and international freight forwarding requirements.
· Maintain updated freight rate sheets, tariffs, surcharges, vendor databases and pricing records.
· Monitor market trends, freight rate fluctuations, competitor pricing and international trade lanes.
· Coordinate with Sales and Business Development teams to support new client acquisition and business growth.
· Negotiate buying rates and commercial terms to maintain competitive selling prices and healthy profit margins.
· Manage customer tenders, rate contracts and key account pricing requirements.
· Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service and overseas partners to ensure pricing accuracy and service feasibility.
· Analyse pricing performance, quotation conversion rates and gross profit margins.
· Lead and guide the pricing team, establish pricing procedures and ensure timely responses to enquiries.
Candidate Requirements
· Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or International Trade will be an advantage.
· 5–10 years of relevant experience in Freight Forwarding Pricing.
· Strong hands-on experience in Air Freight and Ocean Freight pricing for import and export shipments.
· Good knowledge of FCL, LCL, freight costing, local charges, surcharges and international trade lanes.
· Proven experience in rate negotiation with shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs and overseas agents.
· Strong understanding of buying rates, selling rates, gross profit and margin calculations.
· Experience handling RFQs, tenders, rate contracts and key customer quotations.
· Proficiency in MS Excel, pricing sheets and freight forwarding systems.
· Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation and team management skills.
