Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager, Business Operations to lead AIC's business office, holding accountability for billing, accounting, human resources, and information systems in support of a group of approximately 55 radiologists. The role sets direction for the function, leads its ongoing modernization, and builds the systems, measurement, and team capability needed to support the group as it continues to grow.

Core accountabilities
- Business leadership. Own the performance, structure, and priorities of the business office. Set direction, allocate capacity deliberately, and make clear decisions about where the office focuses its effort.
- Accounting and financial management. Hands-on responsibility for payroll, accounts payable and receivable, radiologist compensation and contracts, budgeting, and financial statements, including year-end preparation and maintenance of investment accounts for AIC Inc, Radiology Academic Fund Inc and David Fraser Radiology Research Foundation accounts.
- Transformation and continuous improvement. Lead the modernization of the department - process standardization, prioritization by value, and automation of manual work. Own the current transformation agenda and shape what follows.
- Performance management. Establish metrics and process controls, measure billing completeness and rejection patterns, and report performance to the executive.
- Billing oversight. Accountable for all billing to MSI and other payers. Billing is owned and performed by the billing lead; the GM ensures completeness, accuracy, and continuous improvement of the process.
- Human resources. Recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and development for the business office team.
- Stakeholder management. Own AIC's working relationships with NSH, MSI, Telus Health, CRA, Doane GT, BMO, Stats Canada and the OPOR program, including working with partners to resolve data quality issues at their source.
- Onboarding new radiologists. Ensure new radiologists receive and complete MSI forms. Laise with Telus Health and set up new radiologists’ details within Med Access software.
- Information systems. Ensure the team has the tools it needs to work effectively, set the direction for how AIC uses its systems, and maintain a roadmap for improvement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading a department or business function, including responsibility for its structure, performance, and direction
- Experience in a partner-owned, member-governed, or similarly structured organization, working directly with an executive team, board, or ownership group
- Strong accounting and financial management capability; professional designation preferred
- Experience leading with data - establishing metrics, process controls, and performance reporting
- Experience with enterprise information systems, and comfort working closely with technical staff and vendors
- Proven stakeholder management with external partners and senior leadership
- People leadership experience in a small, close-knit team
- Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, or health administration; MBA or MHA an asset
