Job Description
The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking an internship student in the Applied Embedded Systems (AES) Division for the Spring of 2027.
GTRI’s internship program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills.
Sparking Technology and INnovation at GTRI (STING) is an organic program developed in partnership with Georgia Tech’s VentureLab, which focuses on training the GTRI workforce to achieve greater and more impactful innovation. STING has reached over 150 GTRI researchers, 40 mentors, and 32 corporate or government sponsors with a hands-on approach to teaching Human Centered Design.
The STING program recruits teams of researchers, pairs them with an urgent customer need, and provides instruction and mentorship for the team to explore the solution space. Each team works rapidly over a 10-week period to interview stakeholders, develop user stories, and generate a compelling value proposition.
Now in its eight annual cohort, STING is expanding its leadership team, and is looking for a student who is passionate about technology and innovation. Learn more about past iterations of the program here: https://gtri.gatech.edu/sting
The broad scope of the STING program will provide a solid foundation for the student as a future business leader. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers and program administrators to:
- Perform program planning, setup and recruitment
- Manage branding/marketing efforts through GTRI Communications, social media, etc.
- Create participant surveys, perform interviews, and analyze results
- Manage and monitor weekly cohort meeting rhythm
- Develop and maintain deliverable tools and templates
- Plan major cohort events, including the program finale Pitch Day
Required Minimum Qualifications
Intern
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field(s)
- Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
- Full-Time Intern- Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit
Preferred Qualifications
- Task/Team Leadership experience
- Ability to perform tasks independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks while working on multiple projects
- Strong skills in data analytics, marketing
- Completed coursework and interest in technology innovation and lean techniques
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
