**Job Vacancy: Production Manager**

**The Role**

Geovista is seeking a **Production Manager** to join our team in beautiful North Wales. The successful candidate will possess strong hands\-on technical skills, a proven ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians, and the capacity to quickly learn Geovista’s specialised tools and equipment.

Geovista develops and manufactures geophysical borehole logging equipment, supplying a comprehensive catalogue of winches, probes, and accessories to a worldwide market. We operate a low\-volume, high\-precision production process, which includes many bespoke products.

As a growing company with a global presence, we need an adaptable individual whose duties may vary week\-to\-week to meet business demands. At Geovista, we consider attitude and integrity to be equally as valuable as skills and experience.

**Key Duties \& Responsibilities**

* **Team Leadership:** Manage the production team across assembly, sustaining, and repairs; oversee team well\-being, scheduling, training, and support. * **Management:** Manage the ERP system, assign tasks to the production team, oversee procurement/inventory, and ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner to hit deadlines. * **Hands\-on Assembly \& Testing:** Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of Geovista tools when required; conduct functional, performance, and reliability testing. * **Maintenance \& Calibration:** Undertake repairs of equipment returned from the field; perform fault\-finding, troubleshooting, and calibration of data acquisition tools. Maintenance and assembly of mechanical and electrical assemblies. * **Quality Assurance:** Follow, create, and improve internal testing procedures, documentation, and QA standards; liaise closely with our manufacturing facility.Maintaining and improving on the existing testing and quality (ISO9001\) control procedures, BOMS, and supply chain. * **Cross\-Department Collaboration:** Work with the sales team to align production priorities with business goals; collate and package customer orders for shipment. * **Health and Safety:** Ensuring compliance to Health and Safety throughout the organisation and operations.

· Sourcing / ordering all required electrical, electronics, and mechanical components and liaising with our engineering workshop. Includes responsibility for goods\-in inspection.

**Key Skills \& Requirements**

* **Technical Aptitude:** Strong practical skills for delicate mechanical work, with a solid understanding of mechanical and electronic systems. * **Electrical Skills:** Proficient in soldering wires and connectors (SMD component\-level soldering is desirable but not essential). * **Testing Equipment:** Experienced with instrumentation such as multi\-meters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators. * **Problem Solving:** A methodical, structured approach to fault\-finding and troubleshooting. * **Drawings:** Competent at interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.Ability to read 2D and 3D CAD drawings, and electrical drawings * **Leadership \& Organisational Skills:** Self\-motivated with the confidence to make decisions, manage schedules, aassign and follow up day to day tasks and lead a teamwork\-driven production environment. * **Systems \& Quality:** IT literate (MS Office, ERP systems); familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO9001\) is highly advantageous.

**Qualifications \& Experience**

* A University Degree in Engineering, an HND in Engineering, or a time\-served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline. * Experience in managing a team and dealing under pressure * Geophysical borehole logging knowledge and experience is advantageous, but not essential.
