Key Responsibilities

1\. Relationship Building, Network Cultivation \& Major Gifts

● Active Community Outreach: Spend dedicated time in cultivating relationships with corporate leaders, small

business owners, community foundations, and individual donors across Wood Buffalo and beyond.

● Donor Portfolio Stewardship: Conduct direct outreach, personal visits, impact tours, and other activities to move

prospects through the donor giving cycle.

● Corporate Partnership Acquisition: Pitch sponsorship packages and strategic partnerships to local corporate

entities and business networks.

● Community Ambassadorship: Represent Girls Inc. at community events, networking groups, partner meetings,

and other events to advocate for gender equality and expand our supporter base.

2\. Strategic Brand Messaging \& External Engagement

● Public Speaking \& Presentations: Deliver compelling impact presentations to prospective/existing partners.

● Strategic Storytelling Integration: Spend structured time within programming environments to gather authentic

impact stories directly from girls, translating those experiences into powerful pitches and campaign messaging.

● Communications Strategy: Liaise with the communications management company to direct the annual

communications calendar, social media and web updates as strategic tools to drive offline donor conversion and

community awareness.

3\. Event Leadership \& Sponsorship Outreach

● Sponsorship Drive: Lead the active recruitment of event sponsors, partners, and

auction/in\-kind contributors through direct, personal outreach.

● Event Coordinator \& Execution: Lead the planning and execution of signature fundraising

events, serving as a primary point of contact and host for attendees, partners, and

volunteers.

4\. Development Operations \& Support

● Pipeline Tracking: Maintain CRM database entries following outreach visits to track donor interactions, pledge

commitments, and follow\-up actions.

● Grant Proposals \& Reporting: Identify, write, and submit grant requests to complement direct outreach,

ensuring clear tracking of deliverables and funder deadlines.

● Acknowledge \& Inform: Oversee gift processing and ensure personal, timely donor acknowledgements.

Qualifications \& Experience

Required:

● 3\+ years of experience in active fund development, major gift cultivation, corporate sponsorship sales, or

community outreach.

● Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and relationship\-building skills with a proven

ability to connect authentically with diverse stakeholders (from grassroots community members to executive

donors).

● Public Speaking \& Persuasion: Strong oral communication and presentation skills, with comfort pitching

financial requests and speaking to groups.

● Self\-Motivated \& Team Player: Highly organized self\-starter who thrives when working independently in the field

and managing an active outreach schedule. Team player at heart.

● Mission Passion: Deep alignment with gender equity, girl\-centred programming, and youth empowerment.

● Technical Enablers: Working knowledge of donor databases/CRMs and digital communication platforms as tools

to support field work.

● Operational Requirements: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, access to a reliable vehicle for local outreach travel,

a clear RCMP background check, and legal authorization to work in Canada.

Assets:

● Community Footprint: Existing professional networks or established connections within the Wood Buffalo

business, non\-profit, or civic sectors.

● Professional Certification: CFRE designation or active involvement in fundraising networks (AFP)

Pay: From $25\.00 per hour
