Key Responsibilities
- Network Design and Implementation Design and implement local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructure components based on organizational requirements. This includes configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
- System Administration Administer and maintain servers, including operating system installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning. Monitor system health, diagnose and resolve system issues, and ensure system security and data integrity.
- Network and System Troubleshooting Identify and troubleshoot network and system issues, analyze root causes, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner. Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical problems.
- Network and System Security Implement and maintain network and system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security technologies. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting Create and maintain network and system documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures. Generate reports on network and system performance, availability, and utilization.
- Technical Support Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting and resolving network and system-related issues. Provide timely and effective communication and assistance to end users, both remotely and onsite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in network and system engineering or a related role.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
- Hands-on experience with networking equipment, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Knowledge of server operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux, and system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with network and system security concepts, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
