**Respiratory Unit**

**Trust Fellows (ST4 – ST7\+) in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine**

Applications are invited to join our paediatric respiratory fellowship programme. This has been running for 20 years and is the largest and longest established in the UK, training multiple consultants in the UK and internationally.

The GOSH respiratory service is the largest tertiary/quaternary referral unit for complex paediatric lung disease in the UK. There is a busy inpatient and outpatient service with clinics for asthma, CF, lung transplantation, long term ventilation and complex lung disease.

These posts are designed for paediatric trainees who wish to subspecialise in paediatric respiratory medicine; those part way through subspeciality training; and doctors who have completed training and desire additional experience prior to a consultant post. Applicants must have at least 2 years general paediatric experience, MRCPCH or equivalent.

These posts are suitable for doctors who have previous experience in paediatric medicine and are post MRCPCH or equivalent. They may be wishing to pursue a career in paediatric respiratory medicine or be keen to acquire further experience in the specialty.

**Respiratory Medicine: Ward Fellow \- Specific Clinical Duties**

**This fellow works as part of a team of trainees**

Day\-time clinical duties

The appointee will share responsibilities with a team of ward registrars and other respiratory trust fellows. Duties to be covered include the care of patients on Leopard (respiratory) and Kangaroo (long\-term ventilation) Wards, involvement in CF and respiratory clinics. Specific duties will include clerking and follow\-on care of children on Leopard Ward as well as outlying wards, attendance and presentation of cases at meetings and ward rounds, managing inpatient admission and administration of biologics, and the clerking of sleep study patients. The respiratory team provides a consult service to the other disciplines within the hospital, and these patients need to be seen by the registrars and reviewed by a consultant. The trust fellow will also share with other team members in taking referrals from outside hospitals and dealing with telephone and email queries. When the appointee is working on Leopard Ward, they will be responsible for the supervision of the ward SHO/ST2\-3\.
