Overview:
Groupe Dynamite Inc. (GDI) is a Montréal\-based, public company of integrated omni\-channel brands, designing and distributing accessible, trend\-forward fashion for women since 1975\.
Our mission of "Empowering YOU to be YOU" is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer\-centric core of GDI's long\-standing success as a leading retailer in North America.
Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as high\-growth, native mobile app experiences and shoppable brand destinations at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com. **Job Summary:**
Join GDI’s Digital \& Product Design team as a Senior Product Designer, Mobile Apps, serving as the primary UX leader and strategic partner for our native iOS and Android apps across both the GARAGE and DYNAMITE brands.
In this role, you will move beyond standard E\-commerce UI to drive app\-first innovation, utilizing native gestures, micro\-interactions, personalization, and customer psychology to elevate engagement and conversion. You won't just execute briefs—you will challenge them with analytics, conduct competitive benchmarking, lead ideation sessions, and own end\-to\-end quality, documentation, and accessibility (ADA) standards. **Main Responsibilities:*** Strategic Ownership \& Data\-Led UX: Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Owners, and Customer Insights to bring a data\-backed point of view to the mobile app user experience roadmap before it is written. Conduct quarterly competitive analyses and map customer profiles across brands and regions (CA vs. US) to identify funnel pain points and propose high\-impact A/B tests. * App\-Native Innovation \& Ideation: Drive true mobile\-native design patterns (gestures, haptics, bottom\-nav architectures, vertical storytelling, and immersive PDPs) rather than replicating mobile\-web experiences. Lead cross\-functional brainstorming and ideation sessions to differentiate our native app platforms. * High\-Fidelity Hand\-Offs \& Technical Depth: Deliver complete, developer\-ready Figma hand\-off packages containing fully annotated interaction flows, responsive layout rules, micro\-interaction specs, empty states, and comprehensive edge\-case logic. * Full\-Cycle Quality \& Visual QA: Own the quality of the live product end to end. Conduct thorough visual and functional QA across all releases and user journeys to ensure live builds match design intent and maintain high standards of craft. * Design Systems \& Scalability: Contribute reusable, developer\-ready UI components, accessibility guidelines, and interaction rules to our design system, adhering to the standard that single solutions should yield scalable, reusable patterns. * Accessibility \& Legal Compliance: Embed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG/ADA standards) directly into native app components and hand\-off packages to ensure frictionless, compliant experiences across all flows. * Operational Leadership \& Mentorship: Champion operational transparency and audit velocity, and lead by example in cross\-functional pods—offering valuation ideas and acting as an empathetic, collaborative sounding board for POs, engineers, and brand partners.
**Qualifications:*** 5\+ years of professional experience in Product Design (UX/UI), with a heavy focus on native mobile applications (iOS \& Android) in a high\-volume retail or E\-commerce environment; * An exceptional portfolio demonstrating mobile\-native innovation, end\-to\-end design systems, thorough edge\-case mapping, and data\-backed product rationale (A/B testing, user research, conversion metrics); * Expert proficiency in Figma, component libraries, design system management, auto\-layout, variable modes, and developer hand\-off workflows; * Deep understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Android Material Design, as well as native gestures, micro\-interactions, and mobile navigation paradigms; * Proven track record of strategic partnership: Experience working alongside Product Owners, Developers, and Marketers to challenge assumptions, translate data into hypotheses, and defend UX decisions; * Strong knowledge of mobile accessibility standards (ADA/WCAG) and AI tools, and experience embedding them into native user flows; * Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or equivalent practical experience.
At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:* A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance\-driven bonuses; * A group retirement savings program with employer matching; * Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs; * An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite; * Exclusive private sample sales; * A flexible vacation policy; * And more!
GDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal’s Top Employers and one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People. **Our promise…**
No day will be like the last—we aim to be better today than we were yesterday. We are committed to employment equity.
Candidates that are retained will be called for an interview. **\#NR\-LI1**
