Haddad Apparel Group Canada is the Canadian Licensee for kids apparel that sells and markets global brands such as Nike, Jordan, Hurley, Levi’s, Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Abercrombie Kids and Converse in the Canadian marketplace. We sell and service the biggest retailers in Canada, at the national and regional level.

As we continue to grow, we are embarking on the next phase of our digital evolution: building a modern data foundation and introducing practical, AI-driven solutions across supply chain, inventory management, e-commerce analytics, and internal operations.

Position Overview

We are taking the first steps in our AI and modern data journey, and we are looking for a pragmatic, hands-on Data & AI Engineer to help lead the way. In this role, you won't just write code behind the scenes—you will work directly with our internal teams to understand their daily operational challenges, build tailored tools, and help them adopt smart, automated workflows. You will help build our cloud data architecture from the ground up while serving as a collaborative partner to non-technical staff across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Collaboration & Solution Design: Partner directly with cross-functional teams to identify operational friction, map out workflows, and develop tailored data and AI solutions that simplify daily tasks.
  • Greenfield Data Architecture: Help design, build, and maintain a cloud data warehouse.
  • Data Integration & Ingestion: Extract and standardize data across key business platforms—including ERP/POS, inventory, and marketing platforms.
  • Practical AI & Automation Integration: Identify low-hanging fruit for AI-assisted workflows—such as automated inventory reporting aids, forecasting support, or generative AI productivity tools—and deploy them directly into staff workflows.
  • BI & Reporting Support: Build clean, analytics-ready semantic models to power executive dashboards and team reporting tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau).
  • User Enablement & Advocacy: Act as an internal champion for technology, running brief training sessions and supporting staff as they adopt new tools.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or building production-grade data systems.
  • Consultative & Empathetic Mindset: Proven ability to listen to non-technical business users, translate ambiguous requirements into simple, practical technical tools, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Advanced SQL and strong programming skills in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, or AWS) and data modeling frameworks like dbt.
  • AI & Modern Automation: Practical experience integrating AI APIs, LLM tools, or machine learning models into real-world business applications; familiarity with AI-assisted coding workflows.
  • Industry Context (Bonus): Exposure to retail, apparel, e-commerce, ERP systems (e.g., Blue Cherry), or supply chain metrics is a strong asset.
  • Communication Skills: Clear English and French communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Work Location: In person
