Summary:
The Group Accommodation Operations Manager - Head of Hotels will oversee the strategic and operational management of our hotel portfolio across Sydney, New South Wales. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences while optimising operational efficiency and profitability across all properties. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, driving performance and fostering a culture of excellence within the organisation.
Harbour Hospitality & Lifestyle treats the Head of Hotels role as a portfolio profit-and-control appointment, not as a single-property Hotel Manager role. You will own the group's accommodation performance across the hotel assets, including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, rooms labour, housekeeping productivity, front-office standards, guest reputation, channel discipline, compliance, systems accuracy and weekly director reporting.
Responsibilities:
- The role covers accommodation operations across HHL hotel assets only, including:
- Rooms revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and channel mix.
- Front office, reservations, guest communication and check-in standards.
- Housekeeping productivity, quality control and room readiness.
- PMS, OTA, direct booking, revenue and reporting discipline.
- Accommodation labour control, rostering and productivity.
- Accommodation compliance and guest-risk controls relevant to accommodation.
- Accommodation maintenance escalation and capex risk reporting.
- Compliance and guest-risk controls relevant to accommodation.
- Venue manager support and accountability on accommodation matters where rooms sit inside mixed-use venues.
- Weekly reporting to leadership and director-level stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Senior hotel, accommodation, rooms division, revenue or multi-site hospitality operations experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, channel mix and room-yield controls.
- Strong working knowledge of front office, housekeeping, guest reputation and accommodation compliance.
- Experience holding managers accountable through scorecards, action registers and operating cadence.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and channel managers.
- Experience developing and implementing operational improvement initiatives within a hotel portfolio.
- Commercial literacy across labour, margin, payroll leakage, forecasting and variance commentary.
- Ability to operate in turnaround or distressed-asset conditions without losing control discipline.
