As a Junior Production Engineer at Hayward Tyler, you will support the development and improvement of manufacturing and assembly processes for our products. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will learn how products are manufactured, assembled, tested, and delivered efficiently while meeting quality, cost, and safety requirements. You will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling design, process development, and continuous improvement activities, helping to improve productivity, reduce waste, and support the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes and documentation to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
  • Support the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
  • Help create and maintain manufacturing routings, bills of materials, and process information within Epicor.
  • Work with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring production requirements are considered throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with PFMEA activities and other manufacturing risk assessments.
  • Help investigate manufacturing issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives through data collection, process validation, and testing activities.
  • Prepare reports, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation as required.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
  • Develop knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, testing, and inspection processes.
  • Continually develop your technical knowledge through training, mentoring, and hands-on experience.

What You Will Need:

  • Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, or Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering, with 2-5 years of practical engineering experience gained through an apprenticeship or within a manufacturing environment.
  • An interest in manufacturing, engineering, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

· Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, or assembly processes.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as Epicor.
  • Understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • British passport holder (dual nationality permitted, with British nationality held first).

Pay: £38,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
