Hyderabad, Telangana
Job Summary
Own the board support package and kernel layer for ARM-based heterogeneous SoC platforms, spanning embedded Linux (Yocto), Android and dual-OS configurations, hypervisor-based virtualization, and the driver and HAL stack for high-speed and industrial interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
Bring up new boards and SoC variants end to end — bootloader, device tree, kernel configuration, peripheral enablement and first-boot debug.
Build and maintain Yocto/OpenEmbedded BSP layers, recipes, machine configurations and reproducible image builds; support Android BSP integration where applicable.
Develop, port and upstream Linux kernel drivers for PCIe, USB, I2C/SPI, MIPI, CAN-FD, Ethernet, GPIO, sensors and custom peripherals.
Enable and tune hypervisor-based configurations (Xen or equivalent) including guest partitioning, device passthrough, virtio and shared-resource arbitration for dual-OS deployments.
Implement and maintain HAL layers exposing platform capability to middleware and application teams.
Debug complex kernel-level issues — panics, deadlocks, memory corruption, DMA and cache coherency problems — using JTAG, ftrace, perf, crash dumps and hardware trace.
Manage kernel version uplifts, LTS migrations, patch rebasing and vendor SDK integration.
Define BSP release processes, branching strategy and integration criteria; mentor junior engineers and review driver code
Skill Requirements
8–10 years in embedded Linux platform / BSP engineering on ARM SoCs.
Expert C and Linux kernel internals — scheduling, memory management, interrupt handling, DMA, power domains, clock and regulator frameworks.
Proven Linux device driver development and debugging across at least three of: PCIe, USB, MIPI CSI/DSI, CAN-FD, Ethernet, I2C/SPI, sensor subsystems.
Strong Yocto/OpenEmbedded skills — custom layers, bbappends, SDK generation, image customization.
Device tree authoring and board bring-up experience on new silicon or new hardware revisions.
Hands-on hardware debug: JTAG, oscilloscope/logic analyser basics, schematic reading, bus analysers.
Version control, code review and CI discipline (Git, Gerrit or equivalent).
Other Requirements
Android BSP / HAL / AIDL-HAL development and Android platform bring-up.
Hypervisor work — Xen, Jailhouse, or automotive-grade hypervisors; virtio backend development.
Windows on ARM driver or dual-OS platform experience.
Upstream Linux kernel contributions.
Functional safety or industrial temperature-range product experience.
